Hei, I’m Madison, an industrial designer based in Oslo, Norway. True to my architecture origins, I bring a contextual awareness into every product I design, carefully considering how, where, and by whom each designed product will be used. My experience ranges from from packaging and consumer goods, to furniture and spatial concepts.

Intersection Worktable
By Snøhetta for Medich Family Office
Snøhetta was approached to create a bespoke office table solution for a private office. The result is the Intersection Table: a nearly five meter long table made materials sourced from Lake Pieman in Tasmania and constructed in Snøhetta’s Adelaide studio. The concept of intersecting planes inspired the form, and, despite it’s sculptural appearance, it remains a functional space for working, with hidden storage and charging capabilities built into the central column. I participated in this project as a member of the design team.

Trio
The Trio Stacking Stool Collection was designed with the assumption that beauty derives from concentrated substance: namely function and use. An object is made beautiful when it is designed in response to the lives of those that it will occupy. Trio can integrate into many settings as an extra chair, end table, laptop stand, etc. When not in use, the set of three lightweight stools can stack to be put away.

Splendor of Power Jewelry Collection
The intent of this project was to create a provocative, conceptual collection of jewelry, designed to communicate different ways that ideas have power over the individual, and how pre-existing beliefs influence how people in turn give power to ideas. This collection, exhibited at the Koldinghus “Splendor of Power” exhibit, provokes conversation about ideas, power, and people’s behavior.

Casework Furniture Series
by Snøhetta for Erik Jørgensen
Snøhetta and Erik Jørgensen have partnered to merge the innovative design solutions of Snøhetta with the craft, quality, and construction expertise of Erik Jørgensen. The result is the ‘Casework’ collection, a series inspired by custom, one-off furniture pieces. Designed with a focus on customization, an interchangeable panel system allows architects and designers to easily customize the pieces, and use them in a variety of locations and environments. I participated in this project as a member of the design team for prototyping and design iterations.

Fix the Food’ Festival concept, branding, and furniture elements
by Designit for the Nobel Peace Center
Designit was tasked with developing a concept for the FIX THE FOOD festival to act as the red thread tying all the different elements of this food festival together. From this concept we would develop both a visual identity, overall layout, and physical installations. For the Nobel Peace Center, hosting a food festival was a step into unfamiliar territory. We gave them the guidance and tools to successfully host this event and ensure that the focus on the peace prize and the WFP remains front and center. I participated in this project as a member of the design team.
